Sebastian Rode has completed his move from German champions Bayern Munich to the runners-up Borussia Dortmund.
The 25-year-old German midfielder had two years left on his contract, but opted to move to Dortmund in search of more playing time. He had joined Bayern on a free transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2014, but failed to secure a regular place, playing less than 500 minutes of first team football in his two year stay at the Allianz Arena.
Recently he had been linked with a lot of clubs like Tottenham Hotspur, Schalke, Bayer Leverkusen, Wolfsburg and Borussia Monchengladbach. But after signing his contract, he was extremely content to be moving to the club he supported as a boy.
“I am from childhood a Dortmund fan and therefore am really happy that it worked with the transfer to my favourite club,” Rode told the club website.
“Thomas Tuchel is a class trainer. I am looking forward to the new challenge and my first home game in black and yellow in the Signal Iduna Park.”
